Author’s Cave Halloween Blog Train – “Buried Alive?” Part 10

1.   Include a picture or video of yourself in a Halloween costume!

Being from Australia, we don't have Halloween Dress Up but this is me pretending to be a member of the Rebel Alliance with my Hoth Laser Canon while being spied on by javas!

2.   My favourite scary movie is an old film called 'The Changeling' with George C Scott.

3. What scene from a book or movie scared you more than any other?

The scene in Salem's Lot the mini-series when Barlow shows up at the jail and we see him for the first time. Terrifying!

4. If all of Stephen King’s bad guys were after each other, who would win and why?
Pennywise the Clown. No contest there.

5. Give a Treat!

Say hello to my cat Newt - guess what movie character she's named after?

6. Provide an elevator pitch for one of your books!

An elf queen, a warror princess and a scout set off on an epic adventure in the land of Avalyne, leaving the men behind and to face a terrible enemy that threatens the future of the world!
Come find Arianne in the land of Avalyne in The Queen of Carleon!

AND NOW FOR YOUR TREAT!

These 11 brave souls from all over the world took on the challenge to join the Halloween Story Train!

They were given a beginning of a story and each writer passed the torch to the next train car (blog) to continue the story. We had no idea where it would go or how it would turn out, but it's a great story and you will never guess what happens next!

Follow the train to see how the story goes and to get to know some new authors!

Past Life Transplant.

It was the most controversial scientific discovery since stem cells and cloning. The war had begun the moment Dr. Elena Moore's paper had been published and continued throughout the years of research and final testing with a human subject. Religious groups called it abomination against God and Nature while science heralded it the next stage in human evolution. Dr. Moore cared for none of this, not the accolades, the fact that she would find herself in vaunted circles reserved for men like Pasteur and Fleming or the fact that because of her, immortality was within mankind's reach.

No would ever really die. Their souls would be held in abeyance until their next incarnation was born. Now it still seemed like magic, capturing the neural imprint of the dead, left behind in their DNA and transplanting it in a new body. In the future, Neural Imprint Capture would be done in hospitals across the globe, it would replace the last rites and be part of vaccination after babies were. No one would ever be afraid of dying again.

These were the arguments Dr. Moore told herself as she stood in the surgery room, preparing to siphon off the offending personality from Miss Wade's brain so that the rest of her previous selves could reach some kind of equilibrium within one body. Of course, the real test of success would be if these personalities could achieve cohesion so the woman could lead a productive life.

If this didn't work, she said as she nodded at Nurse Hachette to begin, death would be a kindness.
